Double Corner 80 Fireplace with 24″ High Glass in a Modern Mid-Century Home

Fireplaces were a constant and defining feature of Frank Lloyd Wright’s homes. In his lifetime, he designed more than one thousand, each intended to anchor the home both architecturally and spiritually. With the Flare Double Corner 80 Fireplace with 24″ High Glass, we captured the same ideals — creating a focal point that gives the space both warmth and life.

The Before

This remodel began with an honest assessment: the existing fireplace didn’t match the home’s design language. Its proportions and style failed to complement the clean lines and modern textures found elsewhere in the space.

The Concept

Our goal was to exponentially increase firebox visibility while enhancing the architectural presence of the fireplace. By choosing a three-sided glass design, the Double Corner 80 Fireplace allows the natural flame to be seen from almost any angle. As a result, the room now offers a connection to the fire whether you’re relaxing in the living area, enjoying a meal, or moving between spaces.

The Realization

The Realization

The 24-inch high glass panels give the fireplace an impressive vertical presence while maintaining a sleek, frameless look. This design honors Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision — a fireplace as the heart of the home — while aligning with contemporary aesthetics.

“The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes.”
