A frameless linear Flare fireplace lit in a modern interior, enjoyable year-round with the Summer Kit

Features/Summer Kit System

Enjoy The Fire, Not The Heat.

The Flare Summer Kit gives you greater control over how much heat enters the room. When activated, it redirects up to 70% of the heat produced by the fireplace out of the chase and vents it outdoors, allowing you to enjoy the flame and lighting during warmer months with less heat entering the space. During colder months, the system can remain off so more heat stays inside the room.

Why a summer kit

A fireplace is a year-round centerpiece. The Summer Kit lets it stay lit when the room is already warm.

Rather than releasing warmth into the living space, the Summer Kit captures the heat inside the fireplace chase and routes it through 4″ flex pipe to an exterior sidewall — up to 80 feet away. The result is the glow and movement of a live flame without the accompanying heat, so the fire remains a design element through every season. Offered in two configurations to suit how your venting terminates. And because heat extraction is an optional feature, you stay in control — turn it on or off with a simple ON/OFF switch or through home automation, so you decide when to send the heat outside and when to keep it in the room.

Two configurations

Inline or End of Line Choose The Right Summer Kit Setup

Both systems extract heat from the chase and carry it up to 80′ through flex ducts — choose by how your run terminates.

End of Line Summer Kit System

The right solution when your venting run already terminates flush with an exterior sidewall. It moves heat from the fireplace chase to that existing flush-mounted termination point — up to 80′ through standard dryer duct or flex pipe — so the unit runs without releasing its heat into the room.

Inline Summer Kit System

The flexible solution for moving heat from the fireplace chase to any outdoor termination point. Using standard dryer duct or flex pipe, it carries the heat up to 80′ and terminates on an exterior sidewall — letting the fireplace operate without the heat it produces.

The Summer Kit installs with standard dryer duct or flex pipe and a DuraVent DuraFlex venting run.

Frequently asked

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I still need a heat release even if I have a Summer Kit?

Yes, you do. The Summer Kit is an optional feature that can be switched off. Your fireplace still needs a heat release so that when the Summer Kit fan is off, the heat can vent out of the fireplace chase and into the room.

Can I connect the Summer Kit to a home automation switch?

Yes. The Summer Kit can be connected to home automation — including Nest or Alexa — because it is designed to start and stop independently from the fireplace.

Can the Summer Kit be installed in the wall above the fireplace?

No. Because the Summer Kit is an optional feature, on days when the fireplace is run without it the fireplace chase temperature rises — and that heat would damage the Summer Kit fans if they were mounted in the wall above the fireplace.

Can the Summer Kit be used to move heat to a different room in the house?

No. The Summer Kit was designed to move heat from the fireplace chase to the outdoors only. It cannot be used to route that heat into another room due to carbon monoxide risk.
