Yes. The flame up/down control on the remote adjusts the flame height, and lowering the flame also lowers the heat output. Pressing flame down steps the flame size down; taken all the way down, it shuts the flame off.
Important: this feature only works if the fireplace was started from the remote. If the fireplace was turned on with the wall switch or through a home automation system, the remote will not modulate the flame. The fireplace stays at full flame until it is turned off by the same method that started it.
For that reason Flare recommends operating the fireplace from the remote whenever you want access to flame height, heat adjustment and the remote’s other features.
