A keep it simple, heat release and air intake solution.

Free Flow heat release and air intake louvers are a straightforward heat-management approach: room air enters at the screen (or, with double glass, through a discrete air intake opening below the fireplace) to cool the safety barrier. The warmed air rises then exits back into the room through a top heat-release vent. Because every installation is different, intake and release openings are typically designed and finished to suit the wall. However, to simplify installs, Flare offers a standardized, paintable white louver you can purchase and install to meet the required intake/release specifications.

What is the Free Flow system?

Free flow allows you to purchase a standardized heat release or air intake mount and louver to simplify the installation process.

Can I mount a TV above a fireplace?

Yes, as close as 12″ from the glass opening, regardless of size, style, or safety barrier.

Will I get heat into the room?

Yes, the free flow system recirculates the heat back into the room through our standardized louver.

Can I retrofit this on an existing Flare Fireplace?

Yes, provided there is access to the cavity and walls for integrating the mount and louver.

Do I have to use the standardized louver?

No, you can still design and integrate your own, project unique, heat release.
